Last weekend saw plenty of pre-season action. Starting with a working bee at the clubhouse, which is now looking splendid and ready for a festival of sailing fun, then a fantastic social paella night at Ken and Pauline Goodison’s – many thanks to Ken & Pauline for their generous hospitality once again! The club boats received a lot of attention from keen members and the two Ynglings are now looking ready for new sailors to the club to come and give it a try. You can try sailing with the club for three sails before becoming a member.
Happiness and passion has always been a winning combination in any aspect of life and this is also true of sailing, but once out on the water a good dose of competitiveness will surely be thrown into this mix. With pre-season rumours of new sails, young sailors ready to give those older salts a run for their money, and new crew combinations aboard some of the regular Flying Fifteens, we will surely have a great season.
Thanks to all members who helped with all the pre-season preparation. It is a great relief to see so much work put behind us. Now…let’s sail!
