For those who can remember last year, we were plagued
with west/northwest gales every week. This year it’s
light and variables, and Saturday was no exception.
With a light southerly blowing we ventured out for
a sail, and ended up with a shortened course race.
It was good to see Suzie with fill in crew, Helen
Davies and Andrew Smith, out on the Yngling Sista
Mermaid. Once again it was not a good day for the
keel boats, Interlude gave up and started her motor
and Tumbleweed just decided to go out for a practice
sail instead of trying to race.
Honours went to Gary and Jeffers on Sweatshop again
for both handicap and yardstick races.
A reminder that the club is holding our annual Crayfish
Cup next weekend, combined with the State Titles for
both the Flying Fifteens and Fireballs. Should be
a great weekend. Come along and help support this
function.
The Sailing Club appreciates the support of Helen
& Stuart Hanson at the Mobil service station in
the running of our rescue boat.
Life is good. Be happy, come sailing.
