Aireys Inlet restaurants & cafés

A small main strip with surprisingly serious food — A La Grecque is one of the road's best restaurants, plus a great pub and a reliable café for breakfast.

The strip

Small, but everything is worth eating at

Aireys Inlet has perhaps four serious dining options on or near the main strip — but the small number is misleading. A La Grecque alone is one of the strongest restaurants on the entire Great Ocean Road, comparable in quality to Lorne's Ipsos or Apollo Bay's La Bimba. Captain Moonlite handles modern Australian dinner. The Aireys Pub fills the casual pub-food slot. The General Store covers breakfast and brunch.

Compared to the bigger towns, the absence here is volume rather than quality — Lorne might have ten cafés, Aireys has three. Each one earns its place on the strip. For a road-trip lunch stop, A La Grecque is a very strong pick. For a destination dinner that justifies driving from Lorne or Anglesea, the same.
